ADOPTION SOCIAL SERVICES
Plusone Charities is a licensed Non-Governmental Organization and an accredited adoption agency licensed to operate in Ghana. Plusone is open to offering services to prospective adoptive parents or agencies both in Ghana and abroad who do or do not embark on their adoption journey through plus one. Plusone offers its services in Orientation, Home study, training as well as post-placement review/monitoring and reporting, all at a fee.
ORIENTATION
Orientation on the adoption program is one of the very first stages of the Adoption process. The orientation service is an information/educative session that provides Prospective Adoptive parents or agencies with the necessary information and understanding of the Adoption program. The orientation program makes prospective adoptive parents privy to the various stages of the adoption process and the expectations associated with Adoption in Ghana. HOME STUDY
The Adoption home study is not only one of the earliest stages of the adoption process but a very crucial aspect of it. Plusone charities are open to conducting home studies and home study reports for prospective adoptive parents interested in adopting children here in Ghana. Plusone renders these services for individuals whether they are working directly with us or not. Click here to apply
THE HOME STUDY PROCESS

The prospective adoptive parents contact the organization about their intention. Plusone charities consider their application and ensure they meet the adoption criteria in Ghana
• Home study documentation
Plusone charities assist prospective adoptive parents with gathering all the needed documents that will be necessary for the home study
• Homestudy visits
Social workers from plus one decide with clients on homestudy dates, and household members needed for the home study. Social workers would educate clients on the necessary steps to make the homestudy more effective.
• Submission of home study reports
Once the homestudy visit is complete, social workers put together a home study report on the home study conducted, and it’s submitted to the agency or prospective adoptive client.
TRAINING
The adoption regulation according to the laws of Ghana stipulates that prospective adoptive parents should undergo 30hrs of training. Plusone Charities has a team of professional social workers who are experts in training prospective adoptive parents. Social workers provide, adequate and culturally sensitive specialized training for prospective adoptive parents to help them provide adequate love, care, and protection for prospective adoptive children. POST PLACEMENT MONITORING
The laws of Ghana, through the adoption regulation, state that adoptive families should go through post-placement monitoring for five (5) years. Plusone charities have a team of expert social workers who embark on the state-required monitoring and write reports to be submitted to the Central Adoption Authority. Click here to apply
